I wanted to start the year off with new music to listen to while tackling this WIP.  Dance of the Imagination came up in my playlist by Greg Maroney on his WIND CHIMES album. I love the thrill of slurs to this song it’s truly a relaxing piece.

Of course I went straight to Apple Music in search of his latest album. On there, STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT was staring at me. The artwork of the album is beautiful! I love the colors used. The serene water with the glow of fireflies against the light fog. The night sky has all the eye pleasing colors matching the title of the album perfectly along with the songs.

The first song on the on the album, Firefly, has this gorgeous run of notes starting at 3:03 -3:29 in to the song. If you’ve never seen a field of fireflies during the summer in the evening before this part of really captures that happy feeling of catching them in the summer.

Shooting stars happen all the time, and Maroney capture its journey through Darker Skies. It’s like time unfolding with deeper tones and notes compared to the other songs. Yet, it has a bright and powerful meaning to me.

Another song I fell in love with is Sailing Across the Celestial Sea with its uplifting tone of wonderment and possibility. At 4:11 there is that gorgeous repeating of the melody which I love that finishes off the song, and it catches me by surprise each time.

Prayers and wishes are sent every night regardless of how old you are. Listening to Serenity is that sincere prayer or wish you make at night just before you drift into sleep. It’s more than just peaceful, its hopeful and knowing that it’ll come true one day.

I listened to the entire album which is overall peaceful and inspiring. After I hear Serenity I’ll turn around and play Wishes Granted. It’s  a new beginning of a new found love or some joyous occasion sweetly bringing the story to a close. It’s perfect after listening to your prayers or wishes then hear them coming true.
