While this album came out earlier this year, I hadn’t quite found the right words to describe it. I’ve listened to all 11 songs which is thirty-four minutes of beautifully, well composed piano that’s ever so soothing. PERSPECTIVE is a perfect album from Long after Identity.
The album artwork is so peaceful and gorgeous and very different. If you look at how the tree is centered right above the sunken piano, I mean it’s like a heart rooted in music. I love everything about this album.
Being a fantasy writer, I can’t help to be drawn into music such as this. The song titles are so aptly named. Truth is mesmerizing and captivating as it pushes a plot or thickens one.
Arrival has nice tempo to it. It immediately places me into a haste or position where time is limited and everything is dependent on a successful outcome. The trills right around 2:18 into the track further emphasis’ the pace. Ignite falls in line with the same sense of urgency and empowerment.
My absolute favorite would have to be Fallen. Great way to end such an epic album with a peaceful beginning, a change to reflect, forgive, or even stay at peace with such a beautiful story. The pacing is purposeful, the notes are light and airy, and the length of the track is perfect.
Helen Jane Long has done a wonderful job composing this album. While I know it’s been a few months since its release, I cannot wait for the next one from her. I’ve added her album to Spotify, so if you haven’t heard of this amazing album, please check it out.
