Alejandro Clavijo pops up in the Apple Music discovery while I #amediting. At the beginning of this piece, it sounds very hymnal. Nostalgia vibes are felt here. Yet, half way through the piece is sounds very personal. I can see where the title gets its name. It’s a more happy and warm. There is a modern feel. It’s a mid-century modern. I love that style of decor, and this piece would croon in the background of that same decor especially with that hymnal beginning.
There’s an adventuresome feeling. I can clearly imagine a precious family heirloom being past down the generations. With each careful note held in the upmost care. Being protected. Remembered. A story of how each generation kept it safe, protected each time it was handed over. The last note makes seem like the journey ended and it is not the present. Clavijo is very intriguing solo pianist. He has some singles listed on his site which I will most certainly review soon.
This piece is a necessary addition to your #writingtothemusic playlist.
