Sifting through old photos. Whether it be a family album or digital album, “Remember when…” are those special words that float from our lips and neatly in the ears all around us. This song reminds me of each of those moments. Below is a mini story:
A grandmother settled into her chair with a worn, faded leather book after sending her grandchildren to wash up for a snack. Before long, they came scurrying back, eager for the sweet treats she had baked earlier.
The oldest paused, watching their grandmother as she slowly turned the pages of a book filled with black-and-white photographs.
“What are you looking at?” they asked.
The grandmother smiled, unshed tears glistening in the corners of her eyes as she turned another page.
“Memories,” she whispered through her smile.

James Lazzeroni’s “Memories” is aptly named. His music has a familiar and nostalgic feeling the surrounds you and hugs you when you are feeling lost or not sure of what comes next. Memories is a short and sweet piece with that meaningful sense of family, tradition, and pride. Lazzeroni never disappoints with his music. Memories was released in 2019.
A perfect add to the #writingtothemusic playlist.
